    Responsibilities

    In this position, you will serves as a Regional Security Officer (RSO) and the Law Enforcement Liaison in the Region reporting to the Regional Administrator or the Deputy Regional Administrator with operational oversight, policy and guidance . Typical assignments include:

    • Managing the Region-wide NSI security program (non-SCI and cyber).
    • Advising FEMA’s Chief Security Officer and the Regional Administrator on policies changes for Regional security activities and disaster security operations.
    • Serving as the authoritative source and subject matter expert on all matters relative to multiple security disciplines and issues guidance and assistance in the evaluation and analysis of security needs.
    • Ensuring compliance with NSI safeguarding standards and assure implementation of corrective actions and appropriate follow-up resulting from report findings and recommendations.
    • Managing the HSPD-12 issuance program for the Region which includes the issuance of Personal Identify Verification Cards (PIV) and all other required badging including Facility Access Cards (FAC)
