    As the Biologist (Grants) , this position serves as a staff biologist and administers the grants awarded under one or more of the following Acts or grant programs: the Wildlife Restoration Act; Sport Fish Restoration Act; Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act; Clean Vessel Act; and State/Tribal Wildlife Grant programs, in assigned States and Territories within the Southeast Region.

    Major Duties Include:

    Analyze and process grant proposals

    Complete environmental compliance requirements of WSFR grants.

    Provide grantees advice and guidance in planning and design of often complex projects, document preparation, management of sound fishery and wildlife programs, and the interpretation and application of grant laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

    Monitors grant progress to ensure projects meet objectives, remain compliant with environmental regulations, and report on progress accomplishments.

    Represent the Service on committees, conferences, workshops and other activities.

    Prepares and presents scientific data before scientific organizations, meetings, and workshops.

    Oversee the annual requirements for the submission of Assurance, signature Authorities, and license certifications of grant recipients.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - To attend meetings, conferences and training.
