    This position is located on the Marienville Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest.

    The incumbent performs professional work in the field of hydrology. Responsibilities include conducting and interpreting hydrologic surveys and analysis, watershed rehabilitation and management planning.

    • Collect, analyze, and interpret watershed data for input to environmental reports.
    • Prepare and carry out water quality monitoring programs, including preparation of plans, collection and analysis of samples, and interpretation of data.
    • Participate as a member of interdisciplinary teams working on land management planning, emergency burn rehabilitation, or other Forest projects.
    • Participate in the planning, preparation and implementation of watershed rehabilitation projects, such as stream bank stabilization, in-stream large woody debris, aquatic organism passage, and water quality improvement.
    • May work cooperatively with other agencies at local, state and federal level, and with nongovernmental organizations and other partners.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel for site visits, meetings or training.
