    The physician serves as a Gastroenterologist for the Roseburg VA Health Care System in the Surgical Services department. The incumbent has a high degree of motivation, skill, and dedication to effectively deliver Gastroenterology care.

    Responsibilities

    The Gastroenterologist duties will include but are not limited to the following: Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to adult and geriatric ambulatory and hospitalized patients at the Roseburg VA Health Care System with diseases, injuries, and disorders of the digestive organs including the stomach, bowels, liver, gallbladder, and related structures such as the esophagus, and pancreas; including the use of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using endoscopes to see internal organs. Privileges include the care and management of patients with general gastrointestinal diseases and conditions.
    The incumbent has excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for delivering Gastroenterology services to a diverse population of Veterans. The Gastroenterologist will work closely and collaboratively with the GI Team, specialty care and other disciplines, so strong skills in communication and coordination of care with a large inter-professional team and stakeholders are necessary. The incumbent may also participate in program development, quality improvement, and evaluation. Depending on the specific qualifications of the Gastroenterologist and the specific position's source funding, the allocation of these duties will vary.
    A Gastroenterologist in the Surgical Services Department at the Roseburg VA Health Care System is a licensed, independent provider who is highly skilled in the evaluation and treatment of patients with a broad range of health problems. The Gastroenterologist will be Board Certified (or, Board-Eligible) in Gastroenterology.

    Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p
