As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), your responsibilities will include:
Direct hire authority: This position is being filled using 5 U.S.C., Section 3304 and 5 CFR Part 337, Subpart B, which is the OPM approved government-wide direct-hire authority.
GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include activities such as 1) providing program management support to cyber-security projects or programs; 2) analyzing information technology security program implications of new technologies or technology upgrades; 3) documenting requirements, capabilities, and constraints for system design, procedures and processes; and 4) assessing design constraints, trade-offs, and detailed system and security designs to identify necessary life-cycle support.
You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
