    VA North Texas HCS is now accepting applications for experienced RNs for the Specialty Clinics.

    The following is a list of skills and characteristics that are essential attributes of this assignment:

    Completion of RN degree from a state accredited school of nursing. 2-3 years of recent acute care experience as a graduate nurse with outpatient experience preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to provide accurate physical, mental, and preventive health datacollection skills. Demonstrates self-direction and flexibility in managing assignments. Must be effective in providing educational instructions to patients and others. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills when dealing with patients, families, all staff, and management at a professional level. Knowledge of and proficiency in keyboarding and basic computer operations. Flexibility in assignment scheduling. This may include floating to other clinics, working Saturdays, some holidays, and flexible tours of duty (early/late hours).

    Must have the physical capabilities to initiate crisis intervention measures, transfer/transport patients and the ability and willingness to accomplish satisfactory training and performance in nursing care emergencies.

    Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; Days-flexible tours
