    VA North Texas HCS is now accepting applications for experienced RNs for the Ambulatory Care Clinic-Dallas campus Patient Aligned Care Team.

    The following is a list of skills and characteristics that are essential attributes of this assignment.
    1. There are vacancies in the Ambulatory Care Clinic for experienced RNs. A baccalaureate degree is preferred. RN degree must be from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).Previous ambulatory care experience, Medical-Surgical experience, or ICU experience, and knowledge and skill in preventive health care preferred. Minimum of two years of recent professional (RN) nursing experience is required Effective oral and written communication skills, ability to tactfully deal with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.Ability to perform medical record reviews, collate and report review findings and monitor day-to-day operations/processes within the clinic work setting. Ability to perform abbreviated patient history and physical assessments, as well as, data collection skills. Ability to work in a self-directed manner, collaborating and coordinating with health care professionals outside of nursing service as required.Ability to interact with multi-disciplinary groups as evidenced by active participation in Nursing Service unit level work-teams, special task forces and/or service level programs. Ability to provide educational instruction to patients, families and staff.
    2. Knowledge of and functional in computer patient medical record systems as well as proficiency in keyboarding and basic computer operations.Flexibility in assignment scheduling. This may include floating to other clinics and /or working evening clinic 1230pm-900pm.

    Must have the physical capabilities to initiate crisis intervention measures, transfer/transport patients and the ability and willingness to accomplish satisfactory training and performance in nursing care emergencies.

    Work Schedule: Flexibility to cover unit staffing needs 24/7. This may include floating to other clinics and /or working evening clinic 1230pm-900pm.
