    The ID Section presently comprises 3 physicians. The Section evaluates and treats patients with a wide variety of infectious diseases through an inpatient consultation service and several outpatient clinics, and provides attending physician coverage for medical residents/students and ID fellows. The incumbent should have a strong clinical background in any of the following areas: inpatient ID consultation, Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) and Antimicrobial Stewardship experience. Since this position will also be affiliated with the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, teaching abilities and research experience are preferred but not necessary. The incumbent must be able to maintain clinical activity in both out-patient and in-patient Infectious Diseases and participate in the Infectious Disease Fellowship Program and clinical teaching program for Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all VA ID Section activities (i.e. committee assignments, peer review, etc.).
    This VA position will carry a faculty appointment at UNM. Faculty eligibility, track and rank will be determined based on qualifications, publication record, and experience
