    About the Position: Serves as Deputy to the Commander for Quality & Safety located at WAMC. The incumbent may be delegated responsibility for medical, administrative, and clinical management activities within the clinical services area. As a licensed independent provider practices within the appropriate clinical specialty by providing comprehensive medical care to patients, the nature of the cases may range from minor illnesses to those of a very serious nature.

    • Performs duties as licensed independent provider and expert medical consultant providing medical consultation and advice to the senior clinical and non-clinical leadership.
    • Severs as Chairperson for the Quality and Safety Committees
    • Directs the Clinical work through subordinate supervisors who have delegated authority to direct the employees and control the work within their units.
    • Educates other providers on the clinical and research background supporting quality and safety initiatives.
    • Participates with the Commander in major decisions on appropriate administrative and personnel matters submitted by subordinate supervisors and support personnel.

    25% or less - You may be expected to travel for this position.
