Apply analytical processes to the planning, design, and implementation of new and improved systems to meet Army Modernization Initiatives. Incumbent supports requirements analysis, systems of systems (SoS) integration, developing and managing short and long range milestones, developing plans, and technical assignments with varying levels of complexity and scope to ensure integration across the Future Force Modernization Enterprise (FFME) and that emerging systems are horizontally integrated with current/legacy Army systems. Serves as the primary technical consultant and source of authoritative information regarding all aspects of assigned area of responsibility in order to ensure systems integration, systems interoperability, technical, and quality assurance oversight for assigned key modernization efforts. Maintains a continuous up to date cognizance of all aspects Army modernization initiatives to include Cross Functional Teams (CFTs), Cyber, Integrated Tactical Network, strategic/enterprise, and any additional Program of Record (PoR) initiatives. Establishes priorities, interdependencies and identifies risk between all system integration project milestones and takes necessary action to ensure that all milestones are met or that workarounds are in place to counteract schedule problems.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Supervisory probationary period.
Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 30%.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance. Position is designated critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.2-R. This requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated on a pre-appointment basis which may take up to 120 days or longer to process. The selectee may be allowed to start work prior to adjudication if management approved. Obtaining and maintaining a top secret clearance is a condition of employment. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
Position requires that employee pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Unless specifically waived by the appropriate Army official (i.e., the Director of Acquisition Career Management, the Army Acquisition Executive, or the Secretary of the Army) or if the employee is Grandfathered under 10 U.S.C. 1736(c)(1), the following are statutorily mandated requirements (Reference: 10 U.S.C. 1732 and 1737):
- Selectee must be an Acquisition Corps (AC) member at the time of permanent selection for the position or have been granted a waiver.
- Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years. In signing such agreement, the employee does not forfeit any employment rights, nor does such an agreement alter any other terms or conditions of employment.
- This position requires Senior Level III certification within 24 months of entrance on duty.
