- Serves as United States Army Reserve Command (USARC), Chief, Labor and Employment Law and as Senior Trial Attorney for labor and employment issues.
- Represents the command and subordinate commands and units in third-party administrative, quasi-judicial, and judicial proceedings on civilian personnel, labor relations, and equal employment opportunity matters.
- Serves as adviser/consultant on civilian personnel, labor relations, and equal employment law, including matters from the civil service system, employment discrimination, disability compensation, and labor issues from base realignments/closures.
- Provides advice and assistance on labor and employment issues to all subordinate commands and units and to more than 40 Reserve Judge Advocate Offices.
Occasional travel - The business travel requirement is 10%.

You will be evaluated to determine if you meet the minimum qualification requirements and on the extent to which your application shows possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) associated with the position.
1. Skill and experience litigating/advising on any one or more of the following: Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act, USERRA, VEOA, FLRA, adverse actions, performance based actions, within grade increase denials, or suitability actions.
2. Skill and experience litigating/advising on any one or more of the following: Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Rehabilitation Act or Americans with Disabilities Act.
3. Knowledge of and experience providing oral and written legal opinions on labor, equal employment opportunity, or other substantive issues to senior staff and subordinate organizations
4. Knowledge of and experience preparing and presenting litigation cases for third-party administrative, quasi-judicial, and/or judicial proceedings.
5.Knowledge of and experience interpreting, advising, assisting and furnishing legal opinions on congressional inquiries, investigational reports, reports of survey, line of duty determinations, and separations from the service.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: If currently employed as an attorney by the Federal Government you must have completed one year at the next lower grade level within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement, or previously served at the same or higher grade as the position being filled.
