This position is located in the Office of Research Facilities (ORF), Maryland Facilities Management Branch (MFMB) and the Division of Facilities, Operations, and Management (DFOM). The Maryland Facilities Management Branch (MFMB) is looking for an exceptionally talented and motivated individual with experience as a High Voltage Electrician to play a significant role in their dynamic organization. MFMB serves all of the NIH Community,by maintaining existing facilities, utilities, and grounds.
- Dismantle, repair, and assemble asynchronous and induction motors, motor generators, protective relays, and high voltage circuit breakers.
- Clean, adjust, and repair electrical equipment such as air circuit breakers and remotely controlled supervisory and telemeter equipment and installs rigid conduits.
- Pull in conductor, assemble bus bars, phase out and connects conductors.
- Perform emergency cut-outs and substitutions and power lines and equipment, sometimes working on distribution systems when they are energized.
- Repair electrical auxiliary equipment in the boiler and refrigeration plants.

RAC is an all-hazards program that controls staff access to the NIH Bethesda Campus during or following a crisis. The crisis can range from a terrorist attack to a Pandemic event.
