    WHAT DOES A BUDGET ANALYST DO? As a Budget Analyst you will be responsible for the formulation, development, review, monitoring, and execution of the  IRS's  annual budget  for assigned program areas. In this position, you will coordinate and direct budgetary functions within assigned program areas and provide overall direction and guidance on these functions. You will develop and maintain labor and non-labor costing models. You will perform a wide range of analytical, technical, and advisory functions related to the budgetary process.

    As a Budget Analyst you will: 

    • Analyze resource proposals on Division programs; develop and coordinate budget submissions and justifications, review changes, and assess program impact.
    • Identify issues and develop forecasting patterns and projected budgetary and staffing requirements.
    • Plan and execute labor resource requirements for salaries, benefits, and Full-Time Equivalents (FTE) for the assigned area for both the current plan execution and subsequent year plan development.
    • Recommend and complete budget reprogramming actions to assure optimum utilization of available resources and accomplishment.
    • Review and analyze budget estimates, work programs and resources for soundness of technical treatment and format, accuracy, adequacy of supporting narrative. 
    • Provide oversight and advice in the financial review process, including reprogramming decisions and the development of narrative justifications.
