    This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Office of Policy.

    The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior statistician responsible for analyzing immigration data, developing new methods for analyzing immigration data, writing reports, presenting results, and liaising with immigration experts.

    As a Statistician GS 1530 14, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:

    1. Providing decision support for national immigration policy using advanced statistical and demographic techniques.
    2. Providing statistical review of immigration data, products, and information prepared by others for statistical validity and quality.
    3. Executing multiple analytical projects in support of Office of Immigration Statistics (OIS) objectives to address significant Immigrations policy issues.
    4. Planning and managing projects and studies to determine the nature, magnitude, and interrelationships of the impact of immigration phenomena on the United States.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.
