The Supervisory Construction Control Representative (CSSR) is the Department of Veterans Affairs (OVA) Office of Construction and Facility Management (CFM) on-the-ground team lead for a construction project, typically stationed on site though in some cases manages remotely with regular and recurring site visits. Open to current, permanent employees of the Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM) and Office of Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction (OALC) in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Serves as an expert construction representative with overall responsibility for maintaining long-term and day-to-day surveillance over the full range of office and field activities associated with contract construction activities for many complex projects for either hospital or cemetery construction. Projects under contract are large dollar volume contracts containing numerous separate or subcontracts, and normally involve complex and diverse construction for administrative and technical buildings structures as well as large horizontal construction and site development. The work is made more complex by fast track requirements to meet target dates necessary for the care of our nation's veterans. Leads a team of construction engineers, technicians, and construction representatives in support of the wide-scoped and diverse construction function.
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
