- Evaluates disparate nuclear data generated by DOD and DOE national laboratories and provides the author assessment of the best overall data for over I 00 nuclear isotopes with the associated uncertainties and confidence levels
- Compares, interprets, and resolves discrepancies in the nuclear assessments provided by the different evaluators within the evaluations flight or between the DOD and DOE evaluators
- Recognized by the national laboratories as the authoritative source generating the nuclear data and/or assessments.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 1301 Physical Scientist
Successfully completed a professional degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
Combination of education and experience that is college-level education, training, and/or technical experience The education is equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. NOTE: YOU MUST SUBMIT COPIES OF YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Mastery of and skill in applying the scientific and statistical principles, theories, and methodologies as they relate to disparate nuclear data from a very limited number of samples, analyzed by many different techniques, and generated in extremely different environments. Must apply the use of specialized studies and analytical methods to resolve the unique problems created when deriving accurate forensic data from a post-nuclear weapons detonation environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery of and skill in applying the scientific and statistical principles, theories, and methodologies as they relate to disparate nuclear data from a very limited number of samples, analyzed by many different techniques, and generated in extremely different environments. Must apply the use of specialized studies and analytical methods to resolve the unique problems created when deriving accurate forensic data from a post-nuclear weapons detonation environment.
2. Expert knowledge of nuclear analysis and processing methods, to include radiochemistry separation and purification, alpha, beta, and gamma nuclear measurement techniques, and mass spectrometry.
3. Knowledge of both airborne and ground-collection methods to include the effects of meteorological transport of materials and the effects of the collection methods on the samples.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
