    This position located in the DOL, BLS, Office of Field Operations, Economic Analysis and Information (EAI) Branch, New York, NY. The mission is to support voluntary cooperation in BLS surveys by providing information services to BLS field economists, respondents, the general public, through an active program of outreach, analysis, and data dissemination.

    -Serves as an authoritative technical consultant to users.

    -Assists the EA&I National Operations Coordinator with preparing administrative reports and plans.

    -Involved in planning and implementation of economic analysis programs that interprets economic developments in the region.

    -Prepares press releases on full-range of BLS programs for dissemination for the public.

    -Assists the Chief Regional Economist with research and analysis.

    -Makes presentations to education, labor, business and industry organizations groups on Bureau programs or subjects related to Bureau studies.

    -Retrieves, manipulates, and reformats data from the internet as well as guides users in the extraction of detailed data.

    -Resolves problems with current technologies and may propose or assist in the implementation of new technologies.

    -Establishes and maintains close working relationships with internal BLS customers.
