    Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Agriculture Programs and Trade Liaison, Agro/Bio-Terrorism Countermeasures Division, Boston, MA and Detroit, MI.

    Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

    Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S. This position starts at a salary of $88,704.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $115,313.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $115,313. (GS-13 Step 10). Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen Homeland Security by performing law enforcement activities that enforce the laws and regulations related to the import and export of agriculture, commodities and baggage entering and/or exiting the United States.

    In this position you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals detecting and preventing terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S. Typical work assignments include:

    • Serving as an adjunct analyst or senior adviser to tactical response teams on biological threats and the handling of biological materials
    • Maintaining an outreach program and training for internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness on the importation of biological materials
    • Coordinating, developing and delivering training to internal and external stakeholders
    • Collecting, evaluating, and analyzing information; provides end-products for senior leadership on demand, and on schedule, in support of law enforcement and regulatory activities
