    Summary

    You will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the MSFSC SHIP SUPPORT UNIT NAPLES. This position provides engineering support and performs liaison functions in the area of consideration as directed. Also provides technical oversight and supports Type Desk and Principle Port Engineers (PPE) with the management of industrial assistance for ship related maintenance, repair and alteration support.

    Responsibilities

    • You will identify needs, nature and extent of repair, replacement, improvement, alteration or other work required to enable MSC ships to operate safely and efficiently.
    • You will plan, develop and estimate work items as requested by the ship's PPE in accordance with standard MSC operating procedures and applicable regulatory guidance.
    • You will review and evaluate ship generated voyage repair requests and regulatory body deficiencies, conduct ship checks to verify actual conditions, and provide input/analysis to the PPE.
    • You will help the Type Desks and PPEs plan the schedule for both major and minor repair availabilites for MSC ships in the Area of Responsibility (AOR).
