    The incumbent will serve the Senior Statistician, a member of the senior management team, and the first line supervisor to a group of professional employees and subordinate lead positions responsible for designing, planning and carrying out and publishing surveillance, field investigations, and epidemiologic research of occupational traumatic injuries.

    • Lead an interdisciplinary group of professionals in planning, developing, executing, and disseminating statistical epidemiological research and surveillance data.
    • Direct, coordinate or oversee work of subordinate staff to ensure completion and accuracy, eliminate production barriers, promote team building, and improve business practices.
    • Design, conduct, and analyze studies to identify the efficiency and effectiveness of occupational injury surveillance systems and programs.
    • Develop objectives, appraise programs, and initiate the requirements for statistical studies in injury surveillance and field investigations that form the basis for policies with national impact on the occupational safety and health community
    • Communicate research findings and policy implications to internal and external stakeholders to reduce or prevent fatal and nonfatal occupational traumatic injuries and safety hazards.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Less than 5% Domestic travel may be expected for this position.
