    Summary

     The position serves as a Senior Federal Project Manager, and technical coordinator of a variety of technical R&D projects, including liaising with Office of Fossil Energy Advanced Energy Systems program managers and NETL's Technology Managers that support AES, as well as experts in industry academia and national laboratories.

    Responsibilities

    As an Interdisciplinary General Engineer or Physical Scientist, you will:

    • Serve as the Senior Technical Project Coordinator of the material science projects within the Advanced Energy Systems Team.
    • Provide independent technical expertise and consultation on projects related to the material science project portfolio in advanced energy systems.
    • Maintain strong awareness of internal material science related R&D projects performed by Research and Innovation Center Principal Investigators and seeks opportunities to integrate work among RIC and external stakeholders in the different advanced energy systems technology areas.
    • Regularly communicate the technical progress and status of research projects in the material science project portfolio via bullets, weeklies, fact sheets, abstracts and papers, other publications and oral presentations.
    • Establish and maintains liaison with the Office of Fossil Energy Advanced Energy Systems program managers and NETL’s Technology Managers that support Advanced Energy Systems, as well as experts in industry academia and national laboratories.
    • Maintain effective communications and productive working relationships with project stakeholders, senior management, technology managers, and other project managers.

    Occasional travel - Approximately 4 to 6 days per month for overnight travel
