    About the Position: You will serve as an interdisciplinary study manager, independently planning, directing and coordinating a number of multipurpose, comprehensive and regional/statewide water resource civil works projects with concerns such as flood control, watersheds, water supply, recreation, power, navigation, preservation and enhancement of fish and wildlife, environmental restoration and other water resources development.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as an interdisciplinary study manager, independently planning, directing and coordinating a number of multipurpose, comprehensive and regional/statewide water resource civil works projects.
    • Determine the scope of the project and detailed study objectives, develops study concepts, and defines approaches to completion of the various study elements.
    • Use ingenuity and professional judgment, conceives, formulates, designs, and analyzes possible alternative structural and non-structural solutions to alleviate problems identified.
    • Conduct studies which may involve any or all of the following project functions: flood control, water supply, water quality control fish and wildlife enhancement, recreation, power and navigation.
    • Use ingenuity and professional judgment, conceives, formulates, designs, and analyzes possible alternative structural and non-structural solutions to alleviate problems identified.
    • Review reports by other agencies to determine desired improvements and possible effects of corps of Engineers' programs and projects, and makes recommendations to the Section Chief.
    • Serve as the point of contact with customers on technical and study management issues on the reconnaissance and feasibility phase studies.
