To qualify for this program, applicants must: (1) be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree seeking program at a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis; (2) have a minimum cumulative (overall) GPA of 2.50 out of 4.0; and (3) be in good academic standing, and anticipated graduation date After April 1, 2020. Qualification determinations will be based on education only.
For the CG-7: 1 full year of graduate education or law school or superior academic achievement (S.A.A.) based of completed bachelors degree.
Degrees in Library and Information Science and other related fields are preferred but not required.
Note: One full academic year of graduate/vocational/trade/technical/high school is the number of credit hours determined by the college/university/school.
S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership
1. Class standing- applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the school of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses.
2. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)- Applicants must have a GPA average of:
a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

The applicants selected will be offered an excepted service appointment without time limitation. After successful completion of the program requirements and based on FDIC’s needs, the selectees may be non-competitively converted to a Term or Permanent position based upon an evaluation of performance, completion of at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program. However, service in the FDIC Internship Program confers no right to further employment in the competitive or excepted service.
