    This position is located in the Facilities Services Directorate (FSD) of the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), a field activity of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The scope of this position includes governance and oversight of FSD activity integration, administrative, management, performance, manpower, personnel, training and development, correspondence control, public relations, communications, formulation of policies, standardizing procedures, and overarching strategic planning.

    Your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Serving as the Chief of Staff (CoS) and Director, Directorate Management Division (DMD), which is located in the WHS/FSD.
    • Exercising considerable autonomy in carrying out duties while keeping the Director, Deputy and Assistant Directors frequently and completely informed of intentions, plans, and actions, as well as providing situational awareness on developments within FSD, across the customer/stakeholder base.
    • Providing support and guidance on complex and highly controversial matters
    • Governing and oversees all FSD efforts to improve performance for FSD customers and stakeholders, including OSD; Defense Agencies and Field Activities; Military Departments; other Federal agencies, Maryland and Virginia state and local agencies; the District of Columbia; quasi-governmental organizations; and private activities.
    • Providing both strategic and operational direction over administrative, management, performance, human resources, training, public relations and communications, and overarching strategic planning matters affecting the FSD.
