As a Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-12, you will perform program and policy analyses of services provided by HHS programs.
- Review and assess data sets and provides recommendations on the structuring and maintenance of key databases relating to CCIIO's programs.
- Develop and conduct analyses utilizing appropriate statistical techniques to identify causes, trends, and effects related to enrollment and utilization in the individual and small group health insurance markets and Affordable Care Act programs.
- Draft academic articles and in-depth white papers based on quantitative analysis to explain complex aspects of CCIIO's programs and the individual and small group markets.
- Consult and coordinate with other federal agencies or stakeholders in these projects, and in the critique of quantitative analyses conducted by those agencies or stakeholders.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.

In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Conducting studies to analyze the impact of health care delivery system using statistical methodologies/techniques; (2) Identifying techniques, methodologies, program goals and initiatives to devise new approaches to improve health insurance program operation; and (3) Utilizing research and analysis to develop communication materials such as regulations, briefing documents, or reports.
Substitution of Education for Experience: There is no substitution of education to meet the specialized experience requirement at the GS-12 grade level.

A. A degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
B. A combination of education and experience that provided me with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
C. At least 4 years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that I have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
