    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight, Payment Policy and Financial Management Group, Division of Risk Adjustment Operations.

    As a Social Science Research Analyst, GS-0101-12, you will perform program and policy analyses of services provided by HHS programs.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and assess data sets and provides recommendations on the structuring and maintenance of key databases relating to CCIIO's programs.
    • Develop and conduct analyses utilizing appropriate statistical techniques to identify causes, trends, and effects related to enrollment and utilization in the individual and small group health insurance markets and Affordable Care Act programs.
    • Draft academic articles and in-depth white papers based on quantitative analysis to explain complex aspects of CCIIO's programs and the individual and small group markets.
    • Consult and coordinate with other federal agencies or stakeholders in these projects, and in the critique of quantitative analyses conducted by those agencies or stakeholders.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% for this position.
