    About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position serves as the Special Security Officer (SSO) supporting the Headquarters and subordinate organizations duty station Washington DC.

    • Responsible for Special Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and Tactical Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (T-SCIF) operations.
    • Manage Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) program to ensure proper protection, use and dissemination of SCI documents and materials.
    • Responsible for providing guidance and enforcing SCI administrative, information, personnel, physical, communications, and security guidelines.
    • Manage the Command Information Security programs, to include classification review and management, conducting security violation investigations, security training and education.
    • Submits TEMPEST testing requests and approving authority for electronic equipment entry into SCI facilities.
    • Responsible updating National and DoD Personnel Data bases.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position up to 30% of the time.
