    This position is located in the Office of the Clerk for the Court of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces serves as the highest appellate court in the military justice system. The Judges of the Court are appointed by the President to 15-year terms following Senate confirmation. The Clerk of the Court is the most senior staff member of the Court other than the Judges themselves.

    Your typical work assignments may include the following:

    • Serves as the docket room supervisor and senior legal assistant for the Clerk of the Court.
    • Provides legal assistance to the Clerk of the Court for overall docket management.
    • Provides legal assistance to attorney's appearing before the Court.
    • Provides supervision for assigned unit personnel engaged in providing support for the assigned organization.
    • Conducts extensive reviews and examines all incoming cases and subsequent pleadings to ensure compliance with the Court's Rules of Practice and Procedures.
    • Processes petitions for grant reviews for extraordinary relief, writ-appeal petitions and motions.
    • Perform a variety of operations as the Component Records Management Officer including serving as liaison between the Court and Suitland National Archives Center.
