- Develop regulatory impact analyses (RIA) in accordance with EO12866.
- Develop RIA accounting statement in accordance with Regulatory Right to Know Act.
- Perform project formulation data and analyses by planning and carrying out complex economic research and analyzing findings.
- Serve as point of contact with Office of Management and Budget's desk officer concerning all RIA and liaise on request.
- Serve as subject matter expert on statistical analyses of the veterans' regulations.
- Formulate the development of cost-benefit models to simulate the financial and policy impact of changes in Veterans? regulations.
- Coordinate and present statistical information and technical analyses related to VA regulations to executive leadership.
- Conduct economic research and analysis and develop methodologies and approaches for research.
- Develop proposed legislation by providing costing, impact, and long range planning.
- Monitor departmental compliance with major federal laws.
- Conduct technical review of analyses from other federal agencies and provide guidance to the Director.

Individual Occupational Requirements - applicants must meet the requirements below:
Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.
Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience as described in the IOR which is at the GS-12 grade level and in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience is work performed in the public or private sectors in developing regulatory impact analyses to include the compilation of regulatory accounting statements; gathering project formulation data to include an analysis of economic research/findings; conducting economic research utilizing various methodologies; monitoring compliance with various laws; interpreting proposed legislation to include providing a cost analyses and long range planning on the impact of such legislation.
