    VA Northern Indiana Healthcare System (VANIHCS) seeks to recruit a full-time staff oncologist/hematologist.

    Education and length of practice will be considered through a formal pay-setting process in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).

    The incumbent is responsible for managing Hematology/Oncology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. He/she will evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments for hematology/oncology patients and provide emergency hematology/oncology services as agreed or designated. The incumbent will provide consultative evaluations and treatments to patients referred from other sections of the hospital and/or affiliated VA Outpatient clinics, and perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned by the Associate Chief of Staff of Acute Medical Service to meet the needs of the medical center.

    He/she will provide oversight and direction for advanced practice nurses assigned to hematology/oncology service and act as a collaborating physician if requested for same.

    Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Monday - Friday). On-call 24/7 by phone consultation as needed.
