The U.S. Attorney's Office is currently interviewing for a limited number of part-time one-year term Uncompensated Special Assistant U.S. Attorney (SAUSA) positions in the Criminal Division of the San Diego and Imperial Valley. The one year-term appointment may be extended in some circumstances.
The
Uncompensated Special Assistant U.S. Attorney ("SAUSA") will be tasked with non-case related responsibilities as part of our strategic outreach effort to combat crimes through a multi faceted approach, including prevention of crime, community engagement, and the re-entry of prior offenders.Applicants must possess a J.D. Salary Information: The position is Uncompensated.
Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses will not be authorized.
Travel: Occasional travel both within and outside the district, as necessary.
Type of Position: All initial attorney appointments to the Department of Justice are made on a 14 month (temporary) basis pending favorable adjudication of a background investigation.

Security Requirements: Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
