    The Supervisory Health Systems Specialist (Director, Office of Healthcare Inspections Hotline Coordination), located in the Office of Healthcare Inspections (OHI), oversees and directs all OHI Hotline activities and a staff of Health System Specialists (HSS) and a Program Analyst. Responsibilities include maintaining an efficient Hotline process, keeping projects on track, and meeting timelines.

    As a Supervisory Health Systems Specialist, you will:

    • Assure that timeframes for completion of individual cases are established and determines overall priorities for the Hotline’s workload. Execute and adjust plans, as necessary, to meet the changing needs of the Hotline activities.

    • Oversee the analysis and assignment of incoming complaints to OHI Regional Offices, VA program offices, and other offices within OIG. Personally provides guidance on exceptionally complex cases. On occasion, the incumbent assumes full responsibility for OHI functions and operations in the absence of both the AIG/OHI and Deputy AIG/OHI.

    • Provide technical advice and information on on-going Hotline cases and special projects to top OIG managers and key VA officials.

    • Formulate and recommend policies, procedures, and standards to promote more effective and efficient operations and establish protocol or requirements for the OHI Hotline and the Hotline staff.

    Travel Required

    50% or less - Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.
