This position is located in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave., NW., Washington, DC., in the the Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM) Staff Care Center (SCC).
The incumbent of this position serves as the Supervisory Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID or the Agency) in the Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM) Staff Care Center (SCC). The SCC provides a wide variety of employee assistance, wellness, work/life, and resilience-related services to all Agency employees, regardless of hiring mechanism, and provides oversight and coordination to program clinicians. The SCC also sets the policy for, and implements, the USAID Telework program in Washington, D.C
As an Supervisory Social Worker, you will:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on clinical behavioral health services for the Agency, ensuring that services are delivered in compliance with established professional guidelines, requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise and mentor LCSWs at the GS-12/13 level, performing supervisory, administrative, human resource, and performance management functions.
- Knowledge of the SCC program and ability to be acting Director of SCC.
- Identify significant behavioral, socio-cultural, and institutional issues that may impede the Agency achieving its development objects and develops strategies and plans to address them.
- Oversee or participate in the Operating Unit’s and Mission’s Staff Care assessments and advises field missions and USAID/Washington on courses of action.
- Exercise a broad degree of independence in developing relationships with various stakeholders in Government, private sector, and academic institutions related to behavioral health issues.
- Actively participate in policy formulation, and reviews liaison activities for Agency-wide programs. Inform stakeholders of changes in programs and operations, and represents Staff Care programming to key internal and external audiences.
- Gather, interpret, and analyze quality-improvement data to advance program operations and efficiency, assessing the effectiveness of clinical programs, and recommends strategies to achieve their goals and objectives.
Occasional travel - Occasional travel may be required to high-threat regions of the world, where public safety can be challenging. The incumbent must be willing to deploy to international locations at any time, with short notice.
