    This position is located in the Assistant Commandant for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Technologies, Office of Enterprise Architecture and Technology Innovation in Alexandria, Virginia.

    You will serve as an Electrical Engineer developing Telecommunications policy which supports C4ISR system compliance with Federal Laws, regulations, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) directives, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) policies, and Department of Defense (DOD) policies.

    Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include:

    • Performing electro-magnetic analysis and propagation studies to ensure that other Government and commercial systems do not interfere with Coast Guard (CG) C4ISR equipment.
    • Coordinating the efforts of various C4ISR team members from USCG Headquarters offices, and various contracted staff to examine new technology, methods, techniques, principles, and concepts.
    • Developing, managing and updating Coast Guard spectrum certification in accordance with required National, DHS, and DOD spectrum policy.
    • Developing and submitting technical applications (DD 1494) which characterize the electro-magnetic emission of CG C4ISR equipment in the acquisitions process.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - This position requires occasional travel which may include Air travel, foreign and domestic.
