This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
Data scientist for spectrum-sharing projects administered by the National Advanced Spectrum and Communications Test Network (NASCTN). Develop and improve software that will implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms for the analysis of large and complex data sets. Provide support in database engineering, data processing, data visualization, and data analysis for measurement projects in wireless communications and spectrum sharing. Develop and maintain databases and data processing software for NASCTN projects. Develop data visualization and data analysis tools for NASCTN projects. Collaborate and propose with research teams and stakeholders on research for machine learning and other methods with applications to wireless communications. Communicate results via reports, publications, and presentations. Consult and participate in the execution of complex spectrum sharing and interference tests critical to the NIST mission and CTL priorities (e.g. NASCTN).
