    Summary

    The Chief Information Officer for the ODNI is responsible for innovative, robust, and secure enterprise-level Information Technology (IT) services and applications that meet the mission needs. This includes evolving and strengthening our IT services platform; adoption of timely, effective and secure IT solutions; establishing effective and consistent policies; providing guidance and oversight to improve the information security; and enhancing the daily operations of our current IT systems.

    Responsibilities

    - The Chief of IT Architecture & Planning (IAP) is responsible for:
    - Leading and coordinating the ODNI's adoption of new and existing IC IE capabilities including Data Services, Diverse Cloud Hosting, Federated Desktops, ICAM (Identity; Credential Access Management), and Secure Communications. This includes providing a coordinated approach for a purposeful and managed transition of people, processes, data, and technologies to the common IC ITE architecture.
    - Leading and managing the ODNI's C2S Cloud Team, including providing guidance and direction to ODNI components and mission partners to help them transition new and existing IT systems to C2S and the Unclassified Commercial Cloud Service (UC2S), as well as ensuring sufficient funds are available on these contracts to support their ongoing use. As part of this effort, help facilitate the ODNI CIO Project Review Board (PRB), ensure IT requirements are properly vetted, and provide technical advice and counsel to the PRB Chair.
    - Leading and managing complex computer engineering projects or programs that may have ill-defined requirements, ambiguity, parallel tasks, multiple dependencies, high risks, and multiple interfaces; including managing the design, construction, testing, and implementation of technical and functional specifications; providing technical oversight and initiating, planning, implementing, and coordinating activities throughout the life of the project.
    - Designing engineering solutions and alternative design options to meet customer requirements and providing guidance to junior engineers in the design and development of engineering solutions.
    - Deconflicting complex functional requirements into underlying technical requirements and recommend "best fit" allocation of those requirements. Lead the development of technical and systems requirements.
    - Conducting technical research on such topics as operational guidelines, best practices, and international standards, and develop procedures for the provisioning of hardware, software, and network components.
    - Overseeing the design, evaluation, selection, implementation, and support of development and production support tools and platforms.
    - Overseeing the effective integration and interoperability of disparate capabilities developed by separate service providers.
