    About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Chief of the Support Branch responsible for managing various phases of the Installation/Mission Support Division's contracting functions in the US Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Fort Knox.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares and maintains current acquisition plans, appropriate milestone charts, and related schedules.
    • Plans, develops and establishes long and short range procurement plans, strategies and approaches for the overall acquisition program.
    • Conducts pre-proposal conference(s) with prospective contractor(s) to arrive at a clear understanding of what is required under the proposed contract.
    • Serves as advisor to contracting officials in procurement planning meetings and interfaces with customers on procurement actions. Advises requirement offices and program officials of the procurement objectives to be used, and assists in the preparation of Statements of Work (SOW).
    • As required by the lack of meaningful cost and price information, explores new or innovative contracting approaches to arrive at an equitable contract.
