    Joining Customs and Border Protection, Office Information and Technology will allow you to use your expertise in Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts and methods to support IT systems and services. This position starts at a salary of $57,510.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $74,759.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $74,759 (GS-9 Step 10).

    In this IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals by providing customer assistance and training in response to customer needs. Typical work assignments include:

    • Performing highly structured, entry-level work designed to develop broader and more in-depth knowledge and skill needed to perform higher-level assignments
    • Identifying relevant information including industry standards and practices
    • Making recommendations on how to address trends and new technologies within the context of agency policies, plans, and management strategies
    • Gathering and analyzing facts and draw conclusions
