    Education and length of practice will be considered by a Compensation Panel in determining the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).

    Services are provided in Colorado Springs community based clinic. The incumbent is expected to interact with the Veteran as well as family members, significant others, community agencies and providers, and other staff.

    The Physician practices in the outpatient clinic setting at the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) at the expert level. The Physician is academically and clinically prepared to be responsible for managing the full spectrum of primary care. Primary Care at ECHCS includes, but is not limited to:

    • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring outcome measures of healthcare problems of patients presenting with internal medicine concerns;
    • A nonexclusive list includes the following: performing histories and physicals, initiating and adjusting therapeutic regimens, ordering diagnostic and therapeutic tests/studies, initiating consults to specialty services, prescribing medications/supplies in accordance with VA policy and the VA formulary, providing appropriate follow up care, and triage of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases, and injuries to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment;
    • Physicians have been granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff.The physician will work in a team setting with other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff assigned to perform duties to accomplish the treatment of ECHCS veterans. Computer skills are essential as the ECHCS is fully computerized for note documentation, entering orders and requesting consults.There is minimal administrative work, but the Primary Care Physician will be required to attend staff meetings, M&M's and complete come peer review evaluations. Time will be provided outside of assigned shifts to complete this work.
    • Scope: Primary Care: Approximately 600/0-100% time.Resident/Medical Student Teaching: 0-40% time as assigned.
