Serve as a Research Program Specialist in the Research and Surveillance (R&S) Division of the Department of Defense-Veterans Affairs (DoD-VA) Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD. The incumbent will support research studies aimed at improving the function and quality of life for patients with traumatic extremity injuries, including limb loss and performs a broad range of administrative and technical duties in support of EACE research activities at WRNMMC.
Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 or above grade level in the Federal service which include identification and recruitment of potential volunteers for research studies in accordance with IRB approved research, and experience reviewing draft protocols to assure that the investigator has complied with rules and regulation issued by the Federal government to include, Office of Human Research Protection, Food and Drug Administration, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
