    Responsibilities

    Serve as a Research Program Specialist in the Research and Surveillance (R&S) Division of the Department of Defense-Veterans Affairs (DoD-VA) Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence (EACE) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD. The incumbent will support research studies aimed at improving the function and quality of life for patients with traumatic extremity injuries, including limb loss and performs a broad range of administrative and technical duties in support of EACE research activities at WRNMMC.

    • Serve as a subject matter expert for all administrative activities associated with clinical research protocols in a military medical treatment facility. The position requires practical knowledge of research methods along with knowledge of medical terminology, and clinical experience and/or research experience.
    • Assist in arranging meetings, conferences, and visit requests; maintains office calendars and appointment/meeting schedules as appropriate; prepares meeting agendas and documents summary of minutes from meetings and conferences.
    • Responsible for coordination, identification, and recruitment of potential volunteers for research studies in accordance with IRB approved research protocols; coordinates the scheduling of assessment and treatment sessions for patients.
    • Facilitate the development and execution of new data collection and management processes and procedures.

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
