    Primary Purpose: The incumbent serves as Technical Advisor, GS-0301-15, to the 3-star Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), Strategic Deterrence &
    Nuclear Integration, in the development of future strategy, policy, and capabilities and engagement for the strategic deterrence/assurance and
    Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) mission areas.

    Responsibilities

    • Leads assessments, research, and studies on future strategy, policies, and capabilities for nuclear deterrence and assurance, CWMD, and other AF/A10 mission areas, engaging with think tanks, academia, and other entities for assistance in development.
    • Serves as the principal advisor to the DCS, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration and provides leadership to all phases of the organization's work, engaging and resolving nuclear and CWMD issues with officials at the Congressional staff level.
    • Develops DCS policies, resolves controversial questions, furnishes guidance and provides recommendations and decisions with influence on nuclear and CWMD policy at Air Force and DoD levels..
    • Applies technical expertise performing a broad range of highly complex and controversial qualitative and quantitative analyses of programs and policies which have major impact on the organization's mission.
