    This vacancy is for a Congressional Affairs Specialist position in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Associate Directorate for Communications located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line – Suitland Station.

    Responsibilities

    • Informs and educates Members of Congress and their staff on Census Bureau activities and products to establish working relationships with Congressional Staff.
    • Explains complex technical information in an organized and concise manner so that it can be understood by a variety of audiences.
    • Performs program support in the coordination of information disseminated to Congressional and Intergovernmental offices concerning Census Bureau program and activities.
    • Evaluates and analyzes legislative matters to determine their potential or actual impact on the Census Bureau.
    • Assists in the development of charts and fact sheets for inclusion in briefing materials, press materials, newsletters, and other mediums used by Members of Congress and other state, local, and tribal government officials.
