The position is Chief of Facilities Management for the National Gallery of Art. The position reports to the Administrator. As Chief of Facilities Management, incumbent leads the Facilities Management Division (AFM). AFM is responsible for operating Gallery facilities 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Responsible for maintaining strict environmental conditions necessary to preserve the Gallery's art collections on exhibit and in storage.

Describe your experience addressing safety, historic preservation, accessibility and code requirements in a museum or other culturally-significant facility. What was distinctive about the facility(ies)? Did any aspect of the facility pose a particular challenge and if so, how did you address it?
Describe your experience leading, overseeing, and performing strategic and business planning, goal-setting, and organizational performance measurement. Describe how you initiated, directed and coordinated long- and short-range studies to meet changing facilities management requirements and priorities. How did you innovate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of facilities management? How did you maximize use of staff, materials, utilities, and funding? Did you accomplish things by directing others, or on your own? What exactly were you planning for? Describe the facilities or functions for which you were planning.
Describe your skill in setting short- and long-term goals for yourself and others. How have you ensured that the activities of a team are well-integrated with those of other teams? How have you planned a year or more ahead of time, and then delivered on that plan? Address the way and frequency with which you have collaborated with others to achieve something bigger than one person can achieve. Elaborate on methods and outcomes related to generating new ideas for opportunities and initiatives to advance an employer’s goals. How has professional development and education factored into the way you lead others? How do you keep up to date on the latest information in your field?
