    Mission Statement

    The Defense Security Service (DSS) strengthens national security at home and abroad through our security oversight and education operations. DSS oversees the protection of U.S. and foreign classified information and technologies in the hands of cleared industry under the National Industrial Security Program by providing professional risk management services.

    • Knowledge and understanding of the functions of bureaucratic structures within DoD, its Components, and other involved Federal agencies.
    • Skills in oral and written communications in order to prepare and present papers and staff reports, and deliver briefings in a clear, concise, and logical manner.
    • Ability to assimilate new information and effectively incorporate it into the management decision-making process.
    • Knowledge of DoD/Federal government security-related laws, statutes, executive orders, regulations, and policies.
    • Extensive knowledge in using statistical packages such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), STATA, R, or Mini-tab.
    • Working knowledge of statistical computer programs and facility in writing scripts (such as SQL) to extract data.
    • Develops SQL scripts to assemble data and perform analysis.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - you may be expected to travel for this position.
