    This position will allow you to assist policy makers in developing, evaluating, analyzing and interpreting policies to resolve problems of functional, national and-or international significance and impact. Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures. This position starts at a salary of $83,398.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $108,422.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $108,422 (GS-12, Step 10).

    To meet agency needs, this position will be filled on a temporary basis not-to-exceed (NTE) 13 months with the possibility of an extension(s). This appointment may not exceed a total of 4 years. The incumbent may be separated at any time and separation is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351, 432, 752, and 771.

    In this position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by developing policies, conducting special studies, and providing technical assistance. Typical work assignments include:

    • Attending Construction Project Meeting from Design Intent phase through construction Drawings
    • Supporting development and evaluation of policies in assigned work area
    • Assisting in establishing, implementing, and coordinating space acquisitions for OIT in the field and the National Capital Region.

    Travel Required

    25% or less - 50% or more travel between Springfield, VA and job site in Ashburn, VA (local) and 25% field travel (CONUS).
