The Bureau of Medical Services (MED) is responsible for a worldwide medical program for approximately 60,000 employees and eligible family members (EFMs) of the five Foreign Service agencies and over 30 domestic Federal Agencies with both direct hire and contract personnel assigned to U.S. diplomatic missions overseas. MED is responsible for the medical service program within the Department of State (DOS) for both overseas and domestic assignments.
