    This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration in the Nutrition and Food Service at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

    Responsibilities

    The Clinical Dietetic Technician assists Nutritional and Food Services professionals by ensuring the necessary information is available to provide patients with the correct diet order, correct food choices, admission information, and any special menu/food requests. The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assists the dietitian with screening patients for nutritional risk;
    • Interviews patients to obtain and review food preferences;
    • Interprets diet orders, ensure appropriateness of menu selection, and incorporates tolerances into patient meal plans;
    • Enters information into a computerized patient record system;
    • Instructs patients on correct procedures for completing menus;
    • Assists in identifying patient nutrition/diet education needs;
    • Directs the Nutrition and Food Service Patient Satisfaction Survey;
    • Coordinates taste panels;
    • Assists the Diet Office staff with daily operations;
    • Provides training and direct support to employees as applicable; and
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Weekends, Holidays, Alternate Work Shift
