    This position is a Relocation Technician in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of Shared Services (OSS), Travel Services Division (TSD), Relocation Services Branch (RSB). They perform a variety of work with travel systems, policies, and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    • Review relocation related documents after authorization to verify data, accuracy and to perform reconciliation of accounts. Prepare travel vouchers and enter data into an automated travel system or onto required forms, compare transactions entered to those intended, correct invalid or erroneous entries.

    • Provide customer service pertaining to travel related questions by answering questions for numerous franchise customers with regards to the FTR, Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), agency internal policies, and payment status information from the accounting system. Some shared service franchise customers may be subject to the Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR), or the Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM). Monitor the flow status of documents in the travel system.

    • Prepare drafts of brief memoranda or letters responding to inquiries of a non-routine nature to explain various aspects of travel policy, system functionality, accounting policy or travel procedures related to travel transactions in varying degrees, ranging from general to very detailed, and cover multiple aspects of accounting or policy for travel transactions.

    • Identify and refer serious problems or questions requiring detailed analysis or extensive system modification to the responsible program analyst or higher-level employee.
