-Develop and monitor the implementation of non-regulatory strategies and approaches to reduce or prevent pollution and conserve natural resources.
-Provide administrative, programmatic and technical information and assistance to stakeholders on their activities to promote a multimedia approach to pollution prevention/source reduction.
-Develop policy analyses of pollution prevention regulations, directives, and programs.
-Develop strategies and plans for communicating non-regulatory approaches and policy decisions and programmatic information to affected and interested parties.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-12 level defined as experience implementing strategies to reduce pollution and conserve natural resources; and developing policies/procedures to oversee regulatory or non-regulatory approaches to pollution prevention.
Your answers to the on-line assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Ability to develop strategies and plans; 2) Skill in written communication; 3) Knowledge of pollutants and exposures to devise multi-media approaches to prevent pollution; 4) Knowledge of environmental regulations and directives related to pollution prevention and/or conservation of natural resources; 5) Skill in oral communication.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
