The Director, Procurement Services Staff (PSS) is located in the Justice Management Division, Office of Policy, Management and Planning, Procurement Services Staff. PSS is the operational procurement authority for the Offices, Boards and Divisions (OBDs) of the Department. In addition to procurement operations, PSS delegates procurement authority to over 300 individuals within the OBDs and is responsible for Government Purchase Card, Expert/Fact Witness, and Acquisition Career Management.

The Director, PSS, Bureau Procurement Chief for the OBDs, and the Chief of the Contracting Office for the Justice Management Division (JMD), serves as advisor to the Deputy Assistant Attorney General of Policy, Management and Planning on procurement and other programs within the purview of the staff.
Provides expert and authoritative consultation on highly specialized matters of utmost complexity, sensitivity, scope and urgency.
Builds constructive partnerships and collaborates with executive counterparts in JMD, the OBDs and other organizations to effectively administer procurement and other PSS programs.
Establishes PSS service philosophy, standards for delivery of services and programs, and criteria for evaluating employee contributions.
Basic Requirement for GS-13 Level and Above:
1. Completion of all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4-years experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the next lower level of the position, and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position; and
2. A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
